Pumpkin Palooza: Carving up a good time

Downtown Puyallup will turn into the place to be to celebrate an early Halloween, starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 30.
The Haunted Farmers Market opens then and vendors will be dressed in spooky attire.
Visitors can enter a decorated or carved pumpkin in the Pumpkin contest. Judging begins at noon. People’s Choice winner will receive a prize provided by Main Street.
The NW Glass Pumpkin Patch will have handmade glass pumpkins for sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Elite School of Dance will perform Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” on the stage in Pioneer Park at about 1:45 p.m.
Trick-or-treating begins at 2 p.m. and runs until 5 p.m. at about 30 downtown merchants. Maps are provided.
Renovo Church will host the Halloween carnival at Meridian and Main Street from 2-5 p.m.
The Knights of Veritas will demonstrate medieval combat in Pioneer Park from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
Enter Fido in the pet costume contest at Dog Daze for a chance to win some great prizes from Dog Daze.
Judging begins at 4 p.m.
